Jimmy Iovine is a creative visionary and philanthropist. He’s the co-founder of the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation, the Iovine and Young Center, and Beats Electronics. Jimmy was nominated for a Grammy Award and in 2022 earned induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Jimmy began his decades-long music career at Record Plant recording studio in New York City. He started as a record engineer and then began producing, eventually co-founding Interscope Records. He’s worked with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, and – most notably – Dr. Dre, with whom he’s partnered on business endeavors that include launching the sound empire Beats Electronics. Beats led to the realization by Jimmy and Dr. Dre that education was siloed and the education space needed an interdisciplinary curriculum to help students compete in the 21st-century job market. Together, Jimmy and Dr. Dre established new learning institutions — the USC Iovine and Young Academy along with the Iovine and Young Center.
